After living in Dubai for 3 years and working in the restaurant industry, I had struggled not to gain weight. For every month in Dubai I had gained 1kg which didn’t seem much on its own, except when 1kg became 10kgs and 10kgs became 30kgs!
I attempted a variety of weight-loss programmes including using shakes and no carbs etc and it was easy to lose 5kgs, however I could never move past that, until I realized that I couldn’t do it on my own if I was really serious about losing all the weight I had gained. That’s when I decided to join Good Habits.
Since joining 5 and a half months ago I have lost 47lbs or 21.5kgs! I knew that what I needed most was to be held accountable each week for my weight loss or gain. I am starting the new year in a positive mind frame and confident I will continue to lose the remainder until I reach my target weight in a few months time.
The difference at Good Habits is that it is not a diet, it is a lifestyle change and there are no food groups which I have cut out and I also treat myself regularly to ensure I am not left craving anything and can remain on track. I keep a food diary every day…and even if I know I am going to brunch for example, I will still maintain my diary and the next day I move to a fresh day and get right back on track.

As I had not had this done since I had been in Dubai, the surgery would not let me see the nurse until I had been seen by a doctor. He wanted to know my medical history. Having made some notes, the doctor reviewed my apparent state of health and reckoned apart from being obese… what!! OBESE!
